What Does The Crew Eat?

Generally, the crew in the cockpit won’t eat the same thing or share food while working. At first, it seems unimportant, but this rule helps prevent food poisoning. Actually, that makes sense so the ones navigating the plane aren’t constantly running to the lavatory. For international flights, they have crew meals. Yes, the meals depend on the pilot and airline, but usually, the pilot gets the first class meal and co-pilot eats the business class one. However, plenty of flight crew members choose to bring their own food for the trip.

Leftover Food

Speaking of food, let’s talk about the unused food from the flight. Of course, this is up to each airline, but usually, it’s thrown out. I mean we have enough to worry about with airline food, so it’s best to know that they trash unused food. The food is mass produced by catering services that the airlines have contracts with. According to a travel catering pro, even though the food is said to be fresh, it’s usually made anywhere from 12 to 72 hours ahead. Also according to the international standards, it’s allowed to be chilled for up to five days.
