They started dating in 2007, got engaged in 2010 but chose to *delay* their wedding until the state of California passed legislation to legalize same-sex marriage. Total ‘AWW’ moment. In 2013, after section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act was passed, Bell asked Shepard to marry her through Twitter, which he immediately accepted of course. They got married at the Beverly Hills County Clerk’s Office later that year and get this, the entire ceremony cost $147. Never change you two, never change.
