Amy’s great-grandmother, Estelle Schumer, was a New York bootlegger during the Prohibition Era. She owned an operated a liquor store called Schumer’s Liquors. When alcohol regained its legal status, her store on 54th Street received the seventh liquor license in the city. The store is still there to this day!
