Rebecca Romijn – Head-to-Toe Silicone Scales & Makeup
To transform into Mystique in X-Men, Rebecca Romijn had to sit for eight hours a day at the makeup and body painters. Silicone scales were used to cover her entire body from head to toe in body paint. The crew had to start around midnight to be ready for the set at 8 or 9 a.m. due to the exhausting procedure of applying thick blue layers to the skin. Before Jennifer Lawrence took over as the blue-hued shape-shifting mutant in the sequels, Romijn played the role.
Ralph Fiennes – Removed Hair From Chest, Arms & Head
When award-winning special visual effects artist Nick Dudman transformed Fiennes for Lord Voldemort’s role in Harry Potter, he created one of his best works. Dudman’s team used minimal prosthetics, but the actor had to shave his chest, arms, and head. Fortunately, he did not require nose surgery because the unusual appearance was created digitally.
