Truth Seekers

Nick Frost and Simon Pegg reunited in 2020 for Amazon Prime’s Truth Seekers, a show about a group of paranormal investigators who document their ghost-hunting adventures on social media. Consider the television version of Buzzfeed Unsolved. Frost called the cancellation of the British horror-comedy series “a massive kick in the willy” in a since-deleted Instagram video in February. While you won’t be able to see any more episodes of the show, you can revisit some of Frost and Pegg’s classic films, such as Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, if you’re nostalgic.

Hoops

Netflix has a history of canceling shows early — remember Sense8? — and it appears that the adult cartoon Hoops will not be renewed for a second season. The show revolves around a foul-mouthed high school basketball coach who hopes to change his life by inspiring a hopeless team. Netflix may have decided that the expense of animation was not worth it. Hoops received mixed reviews from critics, with Collider naming it one of the worst new shows of 2020. Netflix’s Big Mouth and Disenchantment are still worth watching if you enjoy adult animated series in general.
