Crown Estate maintains a detailed record of information on each shopping park, including park plans and revenue. Crown made a surprising 2017 sale. Sold its Altrincham Retail Park property for $60 million. Orchard Street Investment Management was the buyer. As Crown Estate cannot borrow money, the sale helped raise money for reinvestment.
1970 Daimler Vanden Plas
Owned Since: 1970
Valued At: $80,000*
The 1970 Daimler Vanden Plas was the early version of the DS420, which the Royal Family used most frequently. The Plas was named “Vanden Plas” on its license plates. Like later variations, the Plas was made for formal use. Jordan’s King Hussein ordered Queen Elizabeth’s model. Vanden Plas Works, a factory in Kingsbury, London, was named after its location. Original Queen’s versions, courtesy of Park Sheet Metal, Pressed Steel Fisher, and Coventry’s Motor Panels, were made of sheet metal shells.
