Upon reading this short but devastating two weeks notice, Mitch’s boss probably got paranoid that his zipper was unzipped. A Horrible Boss
When you hand in your resignation letter, you are expected to have a good reason for quitting your job. If a drunk co-worker attacked you but your boss did not do anything about it, then packing your bags and moving on are sensible things to do. As far as we are concerned, if a boss is unable to take responsibility for the people who work for them, then the best thing to do is quit working for the boss.
