So many Hollywood blockbuster movies that are set in the south portray southerns as unintelligent hillbillies. Steven Soderbergh’s Logan Lucky, which includes some of the most well-known actors, Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, Daniel Craig as they try and organize a heist, and cleverly reveals them as intelligent individuals. But at the same time, it is incredibly funny. West Virginia runner-ups are the comedic Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, the touching football drama We Are Marshall, and space drama October Sky.

We can all acknowledge how amazing Melissa McCarthy’s performance was in the film Bridesmaids. The Wisconsin-set modern-day, comedy is an obvious chick-flicks but so highly entertaining. Who doesn’t love a silly chick-flick nowadays? And the Wisconsin runner-ups are Bernie Mac playing baseball in Mr. 3000, Lars and the Real Girl, and The Great Outdoors.
