Playboy’s Vote
Playboy once conducted a poll about the best drummers and Karen ended up in the first place. However, it should go without saying that not everyone was pleased about it. In fact, John Bonham from Led Zeppelin had something to say on the matter: “I’d like to have it publicized that I came in after Karen Carpenter in the Playboy drummer poll! She couldn’t last ten minutes with a Zeppelin number.”

You might not know this, but lip-syncing is a widespread practice that musical artists use whenever they have to perform live. Karen and Richard had to do the same thing when they sang “Bless the Beasts and Children” during the 1972 Academy Awards!
