Despite this, A&M Records kept supporting them and decided to repackage it for the international music community. Now called “Ticket to Ride”, the album did wonders and 250,000 copies were sold globally!

Unique Sound

It was obvious that the Carpenters’ sound was different from the other groups at the time. While they had undeniable influences from The Mammas and The Papas, their own sound made their music unique. Karen and Richard continued creating their own music and it’s a good thing they did not give up along the way. People were finally recognizing how talented they were!
