On April 19, 2017, news broke that Tucker Carlson Tonight was taking the Fox News’ 8PM time slot following the cancellation of The O’Reilly Factor after sexual harassment allegations. Many people were up in arms though, feeling that Megyn Kelly deserved to take over the coveted 8PM time slot, and not Tucker Carlson. Various social media platforms imploded with messages of disgust with Fox News for not replacing O’Reilly with someone more experienced. Others felt that it was a disservice to female anchors, that a male anchor is fired for sexual harassment and is replaced by another outspoken male anchor.
