Her First Diet
Of course, many people are wondering where exactly it all began. When we take a look at her life, her first experience with dieting took not long after she finished high school. She decided to go on the Stillman water diet and she was able to shed about 25 pounds! She must have been motivated when people complimented her for losing so much weight.
A New Diet
Contrary to what you may think, the Stillman diet is not actually one of those extreme diets. It basically restricted one’s intake of food considered to be fatty and heavily processed. Regular eating is part of the plan and six meals were recommended for each day. Of course, they had to be smaller portions than usual but it did not call for extreme measures. When Karen’s weight dropped to 90 pounds, it was clear that there was a problem.
